Burrill: Huge Payoff of Genomic Project
According to a report from Burrill and Co, a new analysis from Battelle suggests that the US government’s $3.8 billion investment in human genomics has delivered a nearly $800 billion economic impact. In 2010, genomics research and industry activity generated $67 billion in U.S. economic output and supported 310,000 jobs. Simon Tripp, the senior director of Battelle's technology partnership practice, that is “arguably the single most influential investment to have been made in modern science.”
